josilverdragon: (Last Unicorn Sparkle)
I have to play catch up as I've been slacking. They'll be all posted today but in separate posts so they are contained.

Anyhow, Bonnie Pink was the artist next on the list to listen to for Monday, with her debut album Blue Jam from 1995. I first heard her when I watched Rurouni Kenshin, as her song It's Gonna Rain was one of the Op/Ed songs. Going through her discography is great because she really is a talented singer and songwriter and at some point I may have listened to these albums or had them on a shuffle playlist and focusing on a encapsulated musical experience contained in a single album is so great.

For Music Shuffle Nostalgia on Monday, my shuffle today resulted in listening to J.S. Bach. It was an album I had saved called BACH - The Legendary Masters, which was a compilation of some of his works. I was unable to locate it online and all my CDs are in storage so I am unable to actually look at the album itself or take a picture, so here's a portrait I found and saved from online.

Listening to Bach reminded me that I went through a classical kick for a while, believing it would make me more cultured and appealing to someone like Benedict Cumberbatch or whatever. Now I am living more my true self and while I enjoy some classical, or musical instrumental pieces, it's not something I try and focus on or feel guilty because it's not a priority to know.

Also, I blame the anime Nodame Cantabile for introducing me to another composer, Rachmaninov, and by that virtue, chose to try and personally expand my classical library the little I did.
