Curious to know: Where is the best place online to buy Japanese-language manga?

Honestly, probably Amazon.jp (http://www.amazon.jp/) for a lot of stuff; some of the older stuff you might have to look a little harder for on used sites and things like that, but for books even shipping overseas, Amazon still works great. I wouldn't recommend them for Breakable Things, however, since they don't do more than shrinkwrap even for overseas orders, but for books you're more than fine.

For yaoi and used books, I heard a lot of good things about Mandarake (http://ekizo.mandarake.co.jp/shop/en/). They used to be a bit of a pain in the ass because of having to use international postal money orders (remember those days, lol), but now it looks like they take Paypal, so maybe it will be easier--also, in Japan, Mandarake appears to be the shop to go to for doujin and that kind of thing, so they're a well-established name here.

YesAsia.com is the best if you're going for cheaper shipping. Amazon Japan would be good, but the shipping costs make it almost not worth buying from them. Sometimes, with YesAsia, you can even get free International shipping so that's really good, too. And a bonus, if you're looking for Korean stuff or Chinese stuff, YesAsia's got that, too (probably like Amazon Japan might have...but it's all bundled up there and easier to find). They've got some adult stuff, but I'm betting Mandarake will have a better selection.

But yeah, I definitely recommend YesAsia. I'm using it for to order Pandora Hearts and Kuroshitsuji manga. :-)
