Bond returns to the Queen's service to find Britain under threat from international arms dealers trying to stir havoc and an enigmatic Quartermaster with more hobbies than James can count. Mysteries abound both on and off mission as his working relationship with Q deepens into something more, and the price of Duty becomes clear.

A career ending injury destroys the friendship between Bond and Q, and Q thinks he will never see him again. But a second chance for Bond offers them a bridge back to trust, and a way to fight their common enemies.

“How does that lead to…?” Eve waves her hand at the mess behind Q’s back.
Q feels his expression morph into a sly grin. “I have a new plan. I’m going to stay on these dating platforms, but I’m going to treat them as databases. Rather than waiting for an algorithm to set me up, I'm going to try reverse-engineering this entire system.”

In which Q works in the private sector, still winds up friends with Eve, and applies science to his love life. Obviously, Eve gets involved.

When a tech drops a phial of a pathogen designed for biological warfare while Q is giving Bond his tech for a mission, Bond and Q end up in quarantine together to ensure they've not been infected.

Two very different personalities, one room and fourteen days of quarantine can change a lot.
