Today was spent between watching my Youtube "Watch Later" list (don't even ask how many videos because it's A LOT, much like everything else in my life lol), clearing out my room so I can move my bed, and rebuilding my fanfiction library on calibre. It's been busy in one way or another. The good thing is that I found items I had been missing so, that's a win. It also means that I am seriously considering going to the rec center nearby and swim.

Basically, I have been wanting to get back into swimming because it allows for a lot more movement while feeling weightless, which would be beneficial for my joints. I am a very overweight individual with a questionable relationship with food, so I need something that won't harm what joints I have still while still getting me moving. And my step-dad swears by it. I had been thinking of doing this since last year some time but I tried working out in the gym at work and by the time I wanted to reconsider swimming, I couldn't find my goggles or my nose plugs lol. As a result of finding them today, I was thinking about seeing what time classes were at the rec so I could go outside of those times and just take a lane and swim a little bit. It would be the first time out of the house since I went and got groceries on Sunday. A good excuse for an excursion!

In other news, Culligan did finally deliver and thank goodness for that.

More Rambling. . . )

Broke my social media hiatus because I saw in a Youtube short something about a horse breeder I follow (Katie Van Slyke) having to euthanize her yearling colt, Baby Seven. So I hopped on FB on the computer (which technically acceptable) to go to her page and now I'm sad.

Baby Seven was a horse that was born at 286 gestation, which is insane, because at that time frame the foal doesn't have cartilage formed fully yet. Katie said that usually if they are born before 300 days, it's not a birth but an abortion for some reason or another. But he survived and even tried standing. She made the decision to try and keep him going and he ended up at the University of Tennessee and they gained a lot of knowledge from him while working through the variety of problems he had growing. He had recently been at home, then back at UT for some additional procedures, and had just gotten back home this last week. He had some complications, possibly due to colic and he wasn't dealing well with the heat they have been dealing with, so they made the decision to let him go. He was just a year old.

Such a good boy. Such an amazing story.

Katie set up a scholarship with UT and the College of Veterinarian Medicine there for vet students and now is going to set up an endowment so that it will continue on under his name. Made me cry a little thinking about it. One of those stories that you hope the animal will succeed beyond all expectation but succumbing to something that takes down even the healthiest of equines.

At work had a meeting about a new to me workload that one of my boss's wants me and my colleague on. I'm kind of excited, a little trepidation, but ultimately looking forward to learning more about the platform and it's myriad options.

I have one more day at work and then I have 6 work days off for a total of 10 days altogether. I am looking forward to it. Peace and quiet while the parents drive over to Long Beach.

Day Eleven started out okay and ended okay. My arm is bothering me, getting little tingles like there's a nerve pinched. Just goes hand in hand with my freaking carpal tunnel I've been trying to get a handle on. It's slow going though. So I have to force myself to sit straight as opposed to hunched over, which is vastly more comfortable. I mean, sitting upright isn't uncomfortable, it's just. . . my modus operandi is slouching lol. I need to get in to see a massage therapist and maybe a chiropractor if needed. I really wish Dr. Mondragon of YT fame lived closer, aka not in Florida. Regardless, when I next see my nurse practitioner, I'll have to have her make some recommendations.

I know I need to get moving more but it's just. . . hot and I have so little time anyways that it annoys me that I have to make any commitment to spending an hour or two doing exercise once or twice or three times a week. I wanted to do swimming but I can't freaking find the goggles or the nose plug I bought and I know I didn't throw them away or give them away. I wouldn't! But I stashed them someplace "safe" and now I can't, for the life of me, find them. Knowing me, they are in some place under something else and I just haven't gotten it yet.

Apparently it's part ranting post tonight lol )
