“Soulmate,” Stiles thinks he whispers, but there’s too much noise even beyond the roaring in his ears. His dad is escorting the boy and an older-looking girl who’s crying and a deputy into his office, and Stiles is mindlessly following because how can he not, but the deputy doesn’t even blink when he shuts the door in Stiles’ face.
